So I stayed home.

Homey does not go out. The whole land is out on the path and Homey stays in and does the things that make a house a house on a day when everything else has changed shape: the blanket folded into the bag, the comfort kit packed, the good cups found, bread made. Nobody comes and nobody is expected. It is not hiding and it is not sulking; it is the only way Homey knows to put ground under a day like this one.

So I stayed home.
