One day, one feeling
The day as sad saw it
7 fluffs stand for sad in the Fluffdex, and all 7 of them were there that day. Here is what it was, from inside each of them. Sad grows into Recovery.

Boingy's Day
went down the bank the fast way and came back up it with the last lantern
I have fallen over a hundred times and got up a hundred and one, and today I found out that about ninety of those falls were avoidable if I had looked at where somebody else was putting their feet.

Homey's Day
made a house ready to be come back to, and lit the last lantern of the fifty-five
I do not have to want the whole of a big day. I am allowed to want the doorway, and the doorway turned out to be a real job with a lantern on it.

Lonny's Day
asked for a job out loud for the first time, and counted forty orchard hooks instead of guessing
I had it the wrong way round for years. It was never that nobody wanted me. It was that everybody was busy, and I looked perfectly fine.

Memo's Day
remembered why it failed last time, and was not believed until there was a book
Nobody believed me until there was a book about it. I have decided that is fair enough, and also that I was right the entire time the book was still up a hill in a library.

Mopsy's Day
sat down next to four different fluffs, and heard the crack nobody else was quiet enough to hear
I sat down next to four fluffs today and said almost nothing to any of them. I used to think that was the thing I did instead of helping.

Oopsy's Day
carried nine lanterns out of the ditch, and found out the fifty-fifth had never been lost
I spent an hour certain I had ruined the evening, and the only good it did was this: an hour later I could sit next to Truly and mend three hooks and never once mention whose fault they were.

Pouty's Day
sat at the top of a bank keeping company, and worked out how to light a lantern with no matches
The minute of being fed up is not the bit I have to get past before I am useful. It is where the better plan comes from, because you cannot replace something until you know what it was for.
